The City of Richmond (the “City”) is proposing to engage the services of a Professional Quantity Surveyor to provide construction cost consulting (the “Project”), as described in the Contract Documents.

The City of Richmond is looking to replace the current Steveston Community Centre and Branch Library. This will involve the construction of a new Steveston Community Centre and Branch Library and demolition of the existing facility. This will be a three-storey facility, totalling approximately 60,350 sq. ft. in floor area plus one level of an underground parkade, which will be centrally located on the southern edge of the Steveston Community Park.

The City’s anticipated construction budget for this project is estimated at an order of magnitude of $60,000,000 at this time and is inclusive of pre-construction services for this project. The City assumes site prep and enabling works to start in Fall 2022, facility construction to start in Summer 2023 and expects to obtain a substantial completion in Summer 2025.

The site is located at 4111 Moncton Street, Richmond, BC. The identified site currently consists of grassed area, paved parking, pedestrian access and onsite road.
